This was something I wrote back in 2015, yet it still resonates with me.
Check it out.

So I was recently reading an article from propel magazine entitled 'Identity in an Online World' by Hannah Brencher.
What caught my attention was when she stated,
"Hey you, don't think you are so important. Keep the focus on others. Go back to God. Think more on your own actions. Above all, be who you say you are. Convince others that they are capable of things. That's powerful. That's what he probably wants from you." I
This stuck out to me because I have the tendency to be focused solely on ... Lauren...
I have the 'I' ... 'Me' ... 'Mine' syndrome.
Usually, it's my little brother who says something off the wall to get me back on track; he somewhat helps keep me grounded. Lol.
Shhh, don't tell him I said that...
But I digress...
The statement I mentioned above forced me to dig a little deeper. I was forced to have a conversation with myself that went something like,
' Lauren, it's not always about you and what you want and need ... This life doesn't revolve solely around you ... you can't just build yourself up; you must also help others ... You MUST POSSESS COMPASSION for other people!'
That's when it hit me that to be a follower of Christ means that one must learn to be SELFLESS...
...We must learn how to SERVE others...
...We must learn how to GIVE to others...
